Tandy won't be in classes today. She's sick. Nightmares came back last night. Not fun.

I'm taking a sick day, too. If I don't, someone whose name rhymes with Farton may just get flunked today, and no one wants that.

Evening all,

I have to go out of town to deal with an emergency situation. I've arranged for a substitute to cover my classes for the next two days. I'll be back on Wednesday. Sorry for the short notice. I left detailed notes on my desk for the sub so hopefully they'll be okay.

Not sure if anyone heard in the news (I had to dig to find it) but a few days ago a teenage girl who had run away from her home in Ohio manifested while defending herself from some thugs in the city. She's been released from hospital and was sent back home, but her uncle is an acquaintance of mine and approached me today asking if I could talk to her about coming here.

Her mother is an old colleague and between my memories of the woman and what the girl's uncle has told me, seems like the girl's home life is pretty shit, so the mansion's looking pretty good despite everything lately.

I'm gonna fly up there Friday to feel out the situation and talk to the mother.

I find I will be in Chicago until friday evening. Drake has agreed to cover my remaining classes for today and tomorrow. Carmilla Black has some personal business involving a deceased friend to attend to and while I am aware that she is not a student at the mansion and not legally the responsibility of its staff members, I am remaining in the Windy City with her to ensure that Xaviers does not end up having to post bail when she is arrested for being an idiot.

I will be reachable by computer or phone.

Sefton, I know Miss Black was in contact with you prior to our flight but I am not sure if she has updated you on the situation: it seems her friend Amy has been killed and due to insufficient resources the authorities are not able to devote much attention to the investigation. I believe she is rather upset with the situation and am certain she would be grateful for any comforting words you could provide. (And I would be grateful if you had some sensible ones for her.)
