Good, now, go find me someone to beat.
I've been to see Emma. An exercise in frustration, as bloody always. Still, at least she's never tried to have me killed, which makes her unusual among my exes.
Actually, I tell a lie, she has, but it was just business, and it all got sorted out.
They caught her on the hop. That's the short version. It's not worth the details. She knows how pissed off everyone is. She's not a lot happier herself, although her reasons are a bit different. You can imagine how the conversation went.
Summers is right. We keep the kids away from HFC events - the threat level is too fucking high. Beyond that, we sit on our hands for now, no matter how much I personally want to tear them down and sow the ground with salt.
Emma and I talk every so often anyway, we'll keep on doing so. It won't raise suspicion, and they probably won't reflexively assocaite me with Xavier's - Emma and I have been working together in one way or another for a few years. I'll pass on anything I hear that might strengthen her hand, but beyond that, there's nothing we can do right now that doesn't put the kids in the firing line. If we're really bloody lucky, we might get a bit or warning if anything else is coming down the line.
As for Nate's old pals - god knows, the idea appeals on a purely personal level - I'm every bit as fucked off about this as you are old son - but I don't see the virtue in showing even part of our hand. If and when we hit them, it has to be hard enough to drop them for good. Fucking them up for the sake of it is just going to show them where to tighten their defenses, and it'll be all the harder a second time around.

Rather important question that just occurred to me. Are you making a certain phone call to Berlin, or am I?
